Miscats (miscategorization) are a difficulty Community Volunteers run into everyday to pick Daily Deviations. These are artworks that was categorized incorrectly in the submission process.

Earlier today, VelCake posted an article about Fan Art found in our Anime and Manga category. Also STelari took part on the miscat topic and explained misplaced works in the traditional art category!
I will explain in my article that Anime and Manga art is found in Digital Art and in Traditional Art.

Manga styled artworks aren't completly wrong in Traditional Art and Digital Art. You made your drawing Traditional or Digital and the art is without copyrighted elements. But because you used a Manga style it belongs to Anime & Manga > Digital Media or Anime & Manga >Traditional Media.

What should be submitted to the Anime & Manga category? The Anime & Manga category contrains original art, that means original characters and original drawings in Manga style. It shouldn't contrain copyrighted elements such as characters from Anime Series or games.

How do you know if your art belongs to Anime and Manga or Digital Art/Traditional Art?

If the drawing contrains original art and your own developed art style. It belongs to Digital Art / Traditional Art.

Anime & Manga contrains original art (that means these art does not contrain copyrighted elements from movies, books, games, etc.), but if you have use the Manga style that's developed in Japan then it should be submitted to Anime & Manga.

PE: Fan Art vs Original ArtFan Art vs. Manga & Anime: The differences
Many people have come to me in the past with questions regarding whether their work qualified as Manga & Anime or Fan Art, same happened with many Daily Deviations that were placed in the M&A gallery when they should have been submitted to the Fan Art Gallery, oops!
Do you have doubts regarding the submission process? Wonder no more, we'll unveil all the mysteries surrounding the categories! :iconokie2plz:
The basics
Fan art includes those artworks that are based on or contain material such as characters, settings, concepts or universes in general that are copyrighted to someone else other than the artist creating said Fan artwork.
Manga and Anime art, on the other hand, is home for all the artworks that artists have created from scratch and are not related to any preexisting universe nor contain any copyrighted material.

What if we draw an original character, but it's someone else's OC? I'm still confused about this one...
