Rough Korra Animation by *Iza-nagi Green* by *Iza-nagi

`cinyu: Please introduce yourself. What are your interests?
»I’m Aadi, but prefer to be called Izanagi. In my mother tongue, Aadithya means the God who created the Sun, or “the one who creates”. Since I am most interested in the Japanese style of drawing (manga), I simply converted the name into Japanese. Izanagi is a Japanese God and is also referred to have created the world. I chose this alias as ART is CREATION ^_^ I’m an experimentalist who just loves to discover new forms of art. I aim to be perfect in Animation, and my long-time goal is to animate a piece for DreamWorks SKG someday.
Besides drawing, I like to beatbox, perform card magic, make my own comic strips, and like to write books (currently editing a 400-page one).«

`cinyu: What do you want to express with your 2D animation?
»As you already know, animation is a tough job and 2D animation that is extremely tough and time-consuming. I make animations to learn. I wish to produce my feelings in the form of moving images, so that the viewers will have a (short) good time ^_^
As I further my studies in animation, I would like to showcase top class concepts in the form of smooth 2D and 3D animation, but that’s a long way from where I am standing now. Right now, I only make animations to express what I feel.«

`cinyu: What softwares do you  use for your 2D animation? How do you create your 2D animation?
»Though Adobe Flash is the most preferred tool for animation, I do my animations through Photoshop and then composite them in the form of a video in After Effects. Basically, I draw each frame in photoshop using my Wacom tablet. Then, using the Timeline in photoshop, I “play” the animation frame-by-frame and add timing/spacing to individual frames if they require it.
Then in After Effects I add color correction, overall timing, as well as titles and credits/music! Its not easy to explain in words lol but it’s a lot of fun once you get the hang of it! ^_^«

`cinyu: What inspires you the most?
»Life. In each and everything that we see around us, we have movement. Nothing is static. The earth moves, the trees move, a kid moves, a ball moves, even smoke moves. However, out of everything that is around me, my inspiration comes from Osamu Tezuka whose animation was one of the firsts that I ever saw. It inspired me to create “flicker-books” where each page has a frame drawn, and upon “riffling the pages”, we can see movement in the pictures themselves.
When it comes to creating an animation, I am inspired by real life incidents, hence my animations are people dancing, Korra waterbending etc;«

`cinyu: Have you create a special 2D animation? With a special meaning?
»I created a short animated card for my mom’s birthday. It was special as I made it with love, but haven’t uploaded it on dA yet. ^_^ I am also in the process of making another “message-giving” animation. You have to wait and see, though! *winks*«

`cinyu: Please introduce yourself. What are your interests?
»I'm a big fan of Japanese animation since childhood watching Dragonball,  Yuyu Hakusho and many others, when I grew up, i continued to like more  and more of what i now consider an art.«

`cinyu: What do you want to express with your animation?
»It's difficult to say, i think every animation or any other artistic  expression will depend a lot on what I'm feeling at the moment what i'm  creating it.«

`cinyu:  What softwares do you  use for your animation? How do you  create your animation?
»I love animation, and since i got started to learn this kind of art i  have tested several programs. The ones i use most are currently, Flash,  Photoshop, IllustStudio, RetasStudio and After Effects. I create the  sketch of the animation in Flash, then do the lineart and coloring in  RetasStudio,
work on scenarios and other effects in Photoshop, and  make the composition in After Effects and the final effects and  corrections.«

`cinyu: What inspires you the most?
»I think everything in life can inspire, but what inspires me most to  animate is music, i can see an animation on the rhythm of the music on  my head, it's crazy! You just need use your skills to bring this to the  paper.«

`cinyu: Have you create a special animation? With a special meaning?
»I still not created an animation that is super special! But each  animation or drawing has some meaning for me. I have many ideas for the  future, i'm waiting i reach a higher level of skills for people who are  watching can understand what I want to pass to them.«

Time Off by *MisterAibo The Beauties of a Night by *MisterAibo Cinemagraph - The Great Mystery by *MisterAibo

`cinyu: Please introduce yourself. What are your interests?
»I'm Aibo, working under the *MisterAibo handle on dA. I'm an amateur writer and casual programmer. I also make digital images in my spare time, focusing mostly on cinemagraphs as of late.«

`cinyu: What do you want to express with your animation?
»I make new and original characters become alive through my short animated snapshots. These are my cinemagraphs - the insights into the characters' lives. I want to show people the personalities, struggles and lives of those characters through the little stories you can create around each image.«

`cinyu: What softwares do you use for your animation? How do you create your animation?
»The core of my images - the still part - is made in inkscape. I animate the images on the code level of SVG, working in some handy text editor like Bluefish. Since dA doesn't support animated SVGs (a thing I deeply regret), I also create a GIF preview using my brother's Firefox addon.

I'm also currently working on AniGen, a web-based application that creates SVG animations from your assets, taking care of the coding part for you. This way, I want to make SVG animations more accessible and popular. The technology is there. It's a shame to see it live in the shadow of flash for no reason.«

`cinyu: What inspires you the most?
»My graphic style is (obviously) inspired by Hasbro's new My Little Pony series, but my animation mostly stems from both western and eastern animation, their cinema and drama.
For instance, I love the attention to detail of Miyazaki's films, where each movement can convey a deeper meaning. I enjoy the bombastic works of Disney where action happens in split second and blends seamlessly right into the next.
I've spent countless hours watching films, both animated and traditional, analyzing expressions, body language, symbolism, composition and so on.
This is what inspires me - the knowledge that these things are doable. I know I can't do them, but I feel it's just a question of patience, practice and proper analysis.«

Cinemagraph - Warmth by *MisterAibo
Warmth by *MisterAibo

`cinyu: Have you create a special animation? With a special meaning?
»Usually, the better one of my cinemagraphs is, the closer it was to my heart to make it. I base all of my work on stories, characters and personalities. If a character has none, there's nothing to go with. But when I make a short story about the image in my head (or on paper), I can convey that much more meaning.
I have to know the characters I'm portraying. Know them as I would know my friends and loved ones. That's when I do, I can make the pictures express this familiarity to anyone.

If I had to chose a special animation I made, I'd have to go with Warmth. It is one of my oldest and probably the simplest piece, but it conveys a lot of feeling through its composition and minimalist animation. It is a simple story with a lot of heart. And it still reminds me that no matter how good your technique is, the most important thing is the story you are telling.«
